Victoria Doramus Focusing On Giving Back

Women’s Prison Association, Room To Read, the Amy Winehouse Foundation, and Best Friends Animal Society are a few of the many charities she has devoted her time to since 2016.

Victoria Doramus is passionately participating with Room To Read. The nonprofit centers around achieving equal education amongst genders in the ever-changing world and enhancing the literacy rate. Room To Read focuses primarily on pursuing literacy skills between boys and girls and to make it feasible for girls to graduate secondary school while acquiring important skills for life. The charity is also determined to work with local organizations, communities, and governments in hopes of accomplishing the greatest achievable result for children, Smith explains.

Up until now Room To Read has constructed close to 1,500 education facilities and more than 12,000 book repositories in 10 countries to include Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, and Vietnam. For close to 14,000 girls, Room To Read has also given long-term educational scholarships. The nonprofit has acquired awards and acclaimed acknowledgement from Readers Digest, UNESCO, and the Library of Congress UNESCO and Readers Digest just to name a few.

Victoria Doramus is equally desirous about animal rights explaining why she volunteers with Best Friends Animal Society. An American animal advocacy and rescue nonprofit, this charity specifically focuses on eliminating the killing of cats and dogs in shelters, not to mention pet homelessness.

Smith mentions the organization operates the country’s largest non kill Sanctuary for pets Angel Canyon which is based out of Kanab, Utah. Best Friends Animal Shelter likewise runs regional programs in Salt Lake City, Utah; Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; New York, New York; and Atlanta Georgia. After establishment in 1984, this nonprofit has been a huge leader in lowering the number of animals put to rest in American shelters, which has decreased from 17 million per year to 2 million per year.
